INTERIOR SYSTEMS LEAD

Technical Team

The Interior Systems Lead will oversee the design and fabrication of all interior subsystem components (lights, indicators, controls, driver ergonomics) for UTSM’s hydrogen fuel cell vehicle. The conceptual design of the vehicle is to be completed by April 2021, with fabrication being completed by April 2022. The Interior Systems Lead will collaborate with other UTSM design members to ensure their project fits within the existing design vision of the vehicle.

What you'll be doing

  • Draft engineering specification for Interior Systems components

  • Create conceptual designs and bill of materials

  • Create CAD drawings/assemblies/circuit models in parallel with other subsystems

  • Manufacture and assemble vehicle components

  • Regularly communicate with parallel subsystems to ensure validity of conceptual designs

  • Access, organise and manage team file directories

  • Communicate with suppliers on quotations, delivery dates, etc

  • Commitment to seeing the project through from start to end

  • Honesty with respect to being able to meet deadlines

  • Effective Communication skills and previous teamwork experience

Required   

  • Weekly availability for meetings: 1h

  • Design work: 3h

  • Previous SolidWorks/CAD/ANSYS/electronics experience (e.g: assemblies, engineering drawings, motion simulations, FEA-Finite Element Analysis, CFD-Computational Fluid Dynamics, circuit design)

  • Related project/fabrication/machining experience is an asset!
